Mr. Puspa Luitel is a refugee from Bhutan who was resettled in the United States in 2008. He currently resides in Charlotte, Vermont with his wife and daughter. Mr. Luitel recently graduated from Vermont Law School, and he has used his experience to volunteer with several community organizations, including Vermont Legal Aid, Vermont Asylum Advocates, the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program, and his local school district and community center. He was recently appointed to the Planning Commission of the Town of Charlotte, Vermont, and is also actively involved in Mayor Miro Weinberger’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative, which was originally launched by President Obama. Mr. Luitel has been an active member of the Bhutanese community in Vermont since 2008, but of all of his accomplishments, he is most proud of his educational achievements and his ability to work to support himself and his family.
