Delegate Martin Nydayisenga Brings Refugee Leaders to State Capitol

To celebrate International Migration Day on December 18th, Delegate Martin Nydayisenga organized a trip for 11 refugee leaders from Albuquerque to the State Capital, Santa Fe. Refugee leaders met with representatives from the Mayor of Albuquerque’s Office, ORR State Coordinator, and Governor Susana Martinez’ office. Mr. Martin Ndayisenga is a Burundian refugee who was resettled to New Mexico with his wife in 2007. He was just ten years old when he was separated from his parents and was forced to flee to neighboring Tanzania to escape escalating ethnic conflict in 1995.
