Tika Bhandari is the Refugee Congress Delegate for Iowa. She is originally from Bhutan and was resettled to Des Moines in Iowa in 2008.

Currently, she works with Lutheran services in Iowa as a Bilingual Community Associate. She is passionate about helping and supporting refugee and immigrants to achieve their goals by connecting them with local resources. She also works as an independent interpreter. She is a founding member of the Bhutanese Community in Iowa and is an active volunteer. She is married and has two beautiful children.

 

A refugee is someone who has skills and who can create a future.
