Yvonne Songolo
Yvonne Songolo is an employment specialist with Lutheran Services Carolinas’s New Americans Program in Columbia, South Carolina. She plays a pivotal role in guiding New Americans toward self-sufficiency. Not only does she help refugees secure jobs, she also establishes meaningful relationships with employers and helps her clients integrate smoothly into the U.S. workforce.
Songolo's professional background is in social work and management. She speaks five languages – a tremendous benefit to provide culturally competent services to all. As a single mother of three, Songolo skillfully balances the demands of parenthood with her professional life, modeling resilience and dedication for LSC teammates and clients.
Songolo is a former refugee from Burundi and is proud to serve as the Delegate for South Carolina – another testament to her commitment.
