Tamara Omazic
Tamara Omazic is the Program Director for the National Refugee Leadership and Lived Experience Councils (NRLLEC), leading a collaborative effort to center newcomers’ lived experiences in decision-making spaces.
She brings a dynamic professional background, having lived past lives as a business journalist, communications professional, and nonprofit fundraiser.
Most recently, Tamara served refugees to access third-country solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa with the UN Refugee Agency and in Southeast Asia with the US Resettlement Support Center. Through her work, volunteerism and own lived experience as a resettled refugee from Bosnia, she has developed a deep understanding of the systems displaced persons navigate in their journey to safety and rebuilding.
Tamara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College and a Master’s in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration from the University of London. In her spare time, she can be found playing with dogs, training for ski season, or reading.
