Sohrab Sharghi
Sohrab Sharghi is a Finance Executive with more than forty years of experience across several industries including Consumer Goods and Non-Profit Health organizations. A transformational leader and strategic thinker, with proven success fostering winning cultures based on accountability and excellence, Sohrab has navigated several organizations through resolution of critical business and financial issues.
A native of Iran, Sohrab left his country for India at age 17 to pursue a medical degree with the intention of practicing medicine in a developing country. After completing the first two years of medical school in Bangladesh, Sohrab was forced to abandon his pursuit of medicine due to the revolution in Iran that stopped the flow of financial support. Unable to return home, Sohrab and his wife traveled to the UK where they were granted refugee status. Prior to his recent retirement, Sohrab was the Vice President of ITD transformation at CommonSpirit Health, one of the largest non-profit health systems in the United States.
Sohrab’s passion for people has evolved from his experience living and working in six countries on three continents and traveling to more than thirty countries. This unique and diverse life experience enabled him to build several high performing teams, cultivate internal client relationships and easily move among multifunctional and multicultural teams. Sohrab has a good understanding of the challenges refugees face and is keen to support them make the same journey he made.
Sohrab has an undergraduate degree in Biological Science, and an MBA, specializing in Finance from University of Alberta, Canada.
