Refugee Congress Welcomes New Staff Members

Refugee Congress is thrilled to welcome three new staff members. These new members of the Refugee Congress team will make our continuing and growing work in advocacy and outreach possible.


Ali Aljundi

Ali is the new Refugee Congress Membership Engagement and Leadership Development Manager. He is a refugee advocate and civil activist, originally from Syria. He brings with him experience from his career at Oxfam America, as well as his work with refugees in Syria and a prior career in the private sector. Read more about Ali.


Llaura Garcia

Llaura is the new part-time administrative assistant at Refugee Congress. She has a passion for international relations, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, and development. In addition to her role at Refugee Congress, she works full-time as Operations Manager for the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs at Virginia Tech. Read more about Llaura.


Nga Vương-Sandoval

After serving as the Refugee Congress Delegate for Colorado, Nga is now Project Manager for the U.S. Refugee Advisory Board, a self-governing program institutionally housed at Refugee Congress. She is an experienced advocate and speaker who has received numerous awards and recognition for her work. Read more about Nga.
