Ali Aljundi
Ali Aljundi is the Membership Engagement and Leadership Development Manager for Refugee Congress. He is a refugee advocate and civil activist from Syria. Ali brings 8 years of experience as a Policy and Diaspora Engagement Advisor at Oxfam America, where he contributed to the organization’s advocacy work on global humanitarian crises, as well as immigration and refugee issues in the United States.
Before leaving Syria in 2012, Ali was a Senior Career Development Coordinator at the United Nations Relief and Work Agency (UNRWA), where he enhanced capacities of Palestinian refugees in Syria. Previously, he was a Marketing Development Officer at the Aga Khan Foundation in Syria, focusing on the areas of rural development and women’s empowerment. Ali also had a successful career in the private sector, working 10 years in Syria’s textile industry.
Ali holds a master’s degree in sustainable international development from Brandeis University in Massachusetts and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Damascus University in Syria.
