Ashraf Affan

Dr. Ashraf Affan is a Sudanese-American pediatrician, healthcare executive, and humanitarian advocate with more than 30 years of experience serving children, families, and displaced communities. His commitment to refugee health began with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), where he served displaced populations in Sudan and East Africa. He later founded Angel Kids Pediatrics & Behavioral Health in Northeast Florida, building an integrated pediatric and behavioral health organization serving more than 45,000 children and families.

Dr. Affan has served as National Faculty for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative and has engaged Congress on Sudan’s humanitarian crisis, democracy, and child protection. As a member of the United States Refugee Advisory Board, he brings together lived experience of displacement, pediatric expertise, humanitarian service, and public-policy leadership, with particular interest in refugee children’s health, behavioral health, and long-term well-being.
