Felix Shipkevich

Felix Shipkevich is the Principal and founder of Shipkevich PLLC, a New York-based law firm focused on financial regulary services, digital assets, blockchain, payments, and emerging digital currencies. Felix has worked with financial institutions, payment processors, money transmitters, and consumer finance companies, representing clients in regulatory and enforcement.

Felix and his family arrived in the United States as a refugee in 1990 from Odessa, Ukraine, leaving behind friends and relatives to begin a new life in the Brighton Beach neighborhood in South Brooklyn, and remaining stateless for seven years before naturalizing as a US citizen. 

Felix regularly writes and speaks on relevant topics in the financial services industry, and has participated in gatherings across the United States, Europe, and Asia. His book publications include Regulatory Guide to Money Transmission & Payment Laws in the U.S. (2022) and Digital Coins and Cryptocurrencies Law & Regulation: Cases, Materials & Problems (2023), and he and his firm have been featured in Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg Law, MarketWatch, Attorney At Law, Above The Law, The Startup Magazine, American Bar Association, Legaltech News, Law.com, and many other global news outlets.

Felix is currently a Special Professor of Law at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law, where he teaches popular courses on the business and policies of cryptocurrencies as well as corporate finance law. He holds an undergraduate degree in economics and political science from SUNY Binghamton and a J.D. from the School of Law at Hofstra University.
