Refugee Congress Welcomes Five New Delegates

In May 2023, we welcomed five new Refugee Congress delegates. Each bring an array of personal experience and a commitment to support displaced people in the United States.

Meet the delegates:

Atem Aleu is the delegate for Utah, and works for the Utah Department of Workforce Services, Refugee Services Office, as the Refugee Community Programs Supervisor who resettled from Sudan.

Andreina Zuluaga is the delegate for New Jersey, a bilingual psychologist and social activist originally from Venezuela.

Halima Hamud is the delegate for Minneapolis and is in pursuit of a Master's in Development Practice. She resettled from Kenya.

Nicole Tshibangu is the delegate for Kentucky where she is a Family Case Worker with Kentucky Refugee Ministries. She resettled from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Rose Catherine Mayan is the delegate for Michigan. She is an Immigrant Rights Organizer for Michigan United and Michigan People's Campaign. She resettled from South Sudan.
